The City of Moncton is extremely proud of its role in Atlantic Canada as the economic leader of the region. Moncton and its citizens continue to work hard to further develop the city, as we quickly approach the new millennium.

A vibrant and friendly city, Moncton is the best vacation destination on Canada’s East Coast. Whether you are looking for family fun or for an exciting night out on the town, Moncton has much to offer. Moncton’s enviable flair for life and rich culture is a must to be experienced.

While you're here, why not see a little of what Moncton and surrounding areas have to offer:

TIDAL BORE - PETITCODIAC RIVER  Moncton Main St

A scenic phenomenon caused by the surging Bay of Fundy tides, the highest in the world, the Bore occurs twice daily. The higher waters in the Bay cause the water in the placid Petitcodiac River to roll back upstream in one wave, which can range in height from 3 to 60 cm. Just as spectacular is the rapid and dramatic change in the river itself. At low tide the muddy river bottom is often visible, but within an hour of the arrival of the Bore, the water level rises some 7.5 metres (25') to fill the river to its banks.
